20 November 2011: 2011 is the first year Cambodia will collect an immovable property tax, and the process is currently underway. The purpose of tax collection is to generate revenue for local development including infrastructure. The original deadline for tax collection was at the end of September, however this deadline has been extended twice due to the 31st December 2011. We examine how much people understand about the process of tax collection and what relevant authorities can do to better facilitate tax payment.
