06 May 2012: Cambodia’s first electric car may soon hit the streets. Manufacturing has already begun as part of an agreement between the creator, a local company and a foreign investor from Hong Kong. Known as the “Angkor Car”, the vehicle is expected to ease traffic congestion, reduce gas emissions and air pollution. However, there are concerns about the success of an electric car in a country with poor electrical infrastructure and one of the highest costs of electricity in the world.

06 February 2011: For more than a year now an Australian company has been rehabilitating Cambodia's freight train system. Currently, thousands of tons of cement from Kampot province are transported to Phnom Penh by train each week, and when the work is finished, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam will all be linked by train. Many challenges lay ahead for those who are bringing train transportation back to this country, including what to do with the thousands of people who have built homes mere metres from the once-abandoned railroad tracks.
